Bio:

Leah Schuman joined the staff at Merit after serving for over two decades as Associate Professor of Trumpet at VanderCook College of Music. She also helped build VanderCook’s One City program, which provides high quality instruments and instruction at no cost to neighborhood school children while also serving as a laboratory school of music education majors at VanderCook. Outside of work and music, Leah enjoys Yoga and treasures time with her two children and the matriarch of their household, Sid the cat.

Favorite Song:

My favorite recording is Morton Lauridsen’s O Magnum Mysterium as recorded by the Burning River Brass. My favorite piece in general is Mahler’s third symphony.
